LTTR
Type More Letters.
Keep Your Data.
LTTR: Type More Letters. Keep Your Data.
LTTR is a private writing app for iPhone and iPad. No AI reads your words. No LTTR cloud stores your data. Your letters stay on your device: organized, exportable, and completely yours.
How LTTR Works:
Step 1 — TYPE
Open the editor and start writing. Your letters save automatically to your device. No uploads, no AI training, no servers reading your words.
Step 2 — ORGANIZE
Group letters into Books and Books into Libraries. Keep work separate from personal. Color-code, pin favorites, find anything instantly with Quick Open.
Step 3 — EXPORT
Save as ODT (LibreOffice/Word compatible), plain text, Markdown, or PDF. Your letter goes exactly where you want — Files app, iCloud, Dropbox, email, or anywhere.
What You Get?
Everything a letter writer needs.
✓ AI-free writing — No generation, no rewriting, no training on your words. ✓ No LTTR cloud — Your letters stay on your device until you export them. ✓ Professional formats — ODT for LibreOffice/Word, plain text, Markdown, and PDF via print. ✓ Library > Book > Letter organization — Organize hundreds of letters without the mess. ✓ Full formatting — Bold, italic, underline, headings, lists, tables, alignment, spacing, and background patterns. ✓ Distraction-free editor — Full-screen writing or compact banner mode. Typewriter scroll keeps your line centered. ✓ Quick Open — Find any letter instantly by title or body text. ✓ 26 built-in templates — Letters, résumés, meeting notes, blog posts, story structures, and more. ✓ Optional cloud sync — Connect your own Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or iCloud. LTTR never holds your credentials.
Who LTTR is For?
Writers who value privacy.
→ Anyone writing personal letters and tired of AI "suggestions" rewriting their voice. → Writers who want professional export formats (ODT, PDF) without subscription bloat. → People who've lost data to cloud sync failures and want control back. → Journalists, legal professionals, and anyone whose writing must stay confidential. → Users who value privacy and don't want their words used to train someone else's AI model.
What does LTTR not do?
No surprises. No hidden behavior.
✗ No AI generation or rewriting of your letters. ✗ No LTTR-hosted cloud sync — you control where your letters live. ✗ No LTTR accounts or logins required to write. ✗ No letter text sent to LTTR servers — ever. ✗ Optional sync uses OAuth to your own provider (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive) — LTTR never stores your credentials.

FAQ
LTTR organizes writing in three levels. Libraries are your top-level collections (e.g. "Work" or "Personal"). Books group letters inside a Library (e.g. "Q1 Reports" or "Ideas"). Letters are individual documents. Create as many of each as you like.
Only you. No AI reads your writing. No LTTR server ever receives your letter content. If you choose optional cloud sync (iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive), your letters travel through your own account — never through Mautonce servers. See our Privacy Policy.
No. LTTR works fully offline with no account or sign-in required. You can write, organize, and export letters without ever creating a profile.
Letters are saved on your device by default. You can also sync to the Files app with iCloud, or connect Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive. Change your storage location any time in Libraries → Storage & Sync.
Your letters are private from AI. Always. What LTTR NEVER does: • No AI reads your letters • No training on your content • No letter text sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any AI service • No "smart suggestions" or hidden AI processing • No LTTR servers storing your letters (local-first architecture) How LTTR is built: Like most modern software teams, we use AI-powered development tools — code editors and debugging assistants — to build the app faster. These tools see LTTR's source code. They never see your letters. If optional AI features are ever added (e.g. on-device grammar checking), they will be: • Opt-in only (default: off) • Processing on your device, not in the cloud • Clearly disclosed before you enable them Your letters belong to you. That's the promise. For information on Privacy, see LTTR Privacy Policy.

Yes. LTTR auto-saves as you type. A brief save indicator confirms when changes are written to disk. You can also press Cmd+S (Mac) or Ctrl+S (Windows/Linux) at any time.
Tap Save / Export from the letter banner (mobile) or press Cmd+S (desktop). Choose ODT (LibreOffice / Word compatible), plain text (.txt), or PDF via your system Print dialog. Your file goes directly to the Files app, your cloud provider, email, or any share destination.
Yes. LTTR imports .odt, .txt, .md (Markdown), and .html files. Open a file from the Files app, iCloud, or any cloud provider. LTTR shows a trust report so you can review what content was found before opening.
Open Libraries and tap Storage & Sync. You can connect iCloud (via Files app), Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive. Sync is optional and uses your own provider account — LTTR never holds your content on its servers.
On mobile, tap the style button in the letter banner to open the style sheet — fonts, size, bold, italic, underline, heading, alignment, and more. On desktop, the Format toolbar appears at the top of the editor.
Yes. Tap the Templates option from the new letter menu to browse and open built-in starting points, including story structures, formal letter layouts, and blank documents.

Focus Mode hides the app chrome and gives you a clean, distraction-free writing canvas. Toggle it with Cmd+Shift+M (desktop). On mobile, enter compose mode from the letter banner for a similar minimal view.
LTTR may send anonymous crash and error reports to Sentry to help fix bugs. No letter text, no file names, no account info, and no URLs containing your content are ever included in these reports. You can opt out by blocking outbound requests to sentry.io in your network settings. See our Privacy Policy at mautonce.com/lttr#policy-and-terms for full details.
In Libraries, long-press or swipe a letter or book to reveal the delete option. Deleting a letter removes it from your device (and from synced storage if sync is active). This action cannot be undone.
Open Help & About (tap the ? icon or press Cmd+?) and tap "Replay welcome walkthrough."

1. Introduction
LTTR is a letter-writing and document-organizing application developed and published by Mautonce LLC ("Mautonce," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information LTTR collects, how it is used, stored, and shared, and your rights with respect to that information.
By downloading, installing, or using LTTR ("the App"), you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App immediately.
This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use, available at: https://www.mautonce.com/lttr#policy-and-terms
2. Summary: Your Data Stays With You
LTTR is designed with privacy at its core:
No cloud storage by Mautonce. Your letter content is stored on your device or in your own chosen cloud storage account (iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or other supported services). Mautonce does not receive, access, store, or process your letter content on Mautonce servers.
No AI processing. LTTR does not use artificial intelligence, machine learning, or large language models to read, analyze, summarize, generate, or process your letters or any content you create.
No account required. LTTR works without sign-in, user registration, or account creation. You remain anonymous.
Limited diagnostic data only. LTTR may send anonymous crash and error reports to help us fix bugs (see Section 4). These reports do not contain any letter content, file names, or personal identifiers.
No advertising. LTTR does not contain ads, ad SDKs, trackers, or analytics services that profile you for marketing purposes.
3. What LTTR Does Not Collect
LTTR does not collect, access, transmit, or store:
The content of your letters, including text, titles, file names, or any documents you create or edit
Your name, email address, phone number, or any direct personal identifiers (when you use the App without connecting to optional third-party services)
Your precise or coarse location (LTTR does not request location permissions)
Your contacts, calendar, reminders, photos, or health data
Biometric data (fingerprints, face scans, voiceprints, etc.)
Camera, microphone, or media library content
Browsing history, search queries, or usage across other apps or websites
Payment card details (all purchases are processed by your app platform provider—see Section 6)
4. Crash and Error Reporting (Sentry)
LTTR uses Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., https://sentry.io) to collect anonymous crash and error reports. This helps us diagnose and fix bugs to improve the App's stability and performance.
4.1 What Sentry Receives
When an error or crash occurs, Sentry may receive:
Device and system information: Device model, operating system name and version, app version, and screen resolution
Error diagnostics: Stack traces, error messages, and exception details (technical logs that describe what went wrong in the code)
Anonymized breadcrumb events: A sequence of user actions leading up to the crash (e.g., "button tapped," "screen navigated"), excluding any letter content, file names, or document titles. Any URLs containing blob: or data: schemes (which could contain letter content) are stripped before transmission.
Performance traces: LTTR is configured with tracesSampleRate: 0 — no session performance traces are transmitted to Sentry. Only crash and error events are sent.
4.2 What Sentry Does Not Receive
Sentry does not receive:
Your letter content, document text, file names, or titles
Your name, email, user ID, or any personal identifier (the user field is deleted before transmission)
Any URL or path that could reveal letter content
Precise location or IP address (IP addresses are anonymized by Sentry)
4.3 Data Minimization and Security
LTTR is configured to minimize the data sent to Sentry. Before each crash report is transmitted:
Personal identifiers are removed
Content-bearing URLs are scrubbed
Only the minimum information needed to diagnose the error is included
Sentry's data handling and security practices are governed by Sentry's Privacy Policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
4.4 Opt-Out
You can block Sentry's data collection by configuring your device or network firewall to block outbound requests to *.sentry.io. Blocking Sentry does not affect LTTR's core functionality—your letters, sync, and all features will continue to work normally.
4.5 Data Retention
Crash reports are retained by Sentry in accordance with their data retention policy.
5. Optional Cloud Storage Integration
LTTR supports optional integration with third-party cloud storage providers, including:
iCloud (Apple Inc.)
Dropbox (Dropbox, Inc.)
OneDrive (Microsoft Corporation)
Google Drive (Google LLC)
Other cloud storage services accessible through your device's file system
5.1 How Cloud Sync Works
Cloud sync is disabled by default and entirely opt-in. When you choose to enable sync:
You authenticate directly with the cloud provider using your own account credentials via OAuth or the provider's secure authentication flow
Mautonce does not receive, store, or have access to your cloud provider username, password, or authentication tokens, except as temporarily cached locally on your device to maintain the connection
Your letters are stored in your personal cloud storage account, not on Mautonce servers
Mautonce cannot access your cloud files. LTTR only reads and writes files within the folders you explicitly grant permission to access.
5.2 Third-Party Privacy Policies
Each cloud provider's privacy policy and terms of service govern how they collect, use, and protect your data:
Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/privacy
Microsoft OneDrive: https://privacy.microsoft.com/
Google Drive: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Mautonce is not responsible for the data practices of third-party cloud storage providers. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before enabling sync.
5.3 Disabling Cloud Sync
You may disconnect or disable cloud sync at any time through the App's settings. Disconnecting does not delete your files from your cloud account—you must manage file deletion through the cloud provider's interface or file manager.
6. In-App Purchases and Payment Information
LTTR may offer optional paid features or subscriptions ("LTTR Pro") through in-app purchase.
All payment processing is handled by your app platform provider (Apple App Store, Google Play, or other). Mautonce does not collect, store, or process payment card numbers, billing addresses, or any payment information.
Your payment data and purchase history are governed by your app platform's privacy policy:
Apple App Store: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Google Play: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Mautonce may receive anonymized purchase confirmation (e.g., "a user purchased LTTR Pro on [date]") from the app platform to enable features, but this is not linked to your identity.
7. No Advertising, Tracking, or Data Sale
Mautonce does not:
Sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to third parties
Include advertising SDKs, ad networks, or tracking pixels in LTTR
Share your data with data brokers, marketers, or analytics services for profiling or targeted advertising purposes
Use cross-site or cross-app tracking technologies
8. Data Retention and Deletion
8.1 Letter Content
Because LTTR stores your letter content on your device or in your cloud storage account, you control retention:
To delete a letter, delete it through the App or through your device's file system or cloud provider's interface
Uninstalling LTTR removes app data stored locally on your device; data in your connected cloud accounts remains and must be managed through those services
8.2 Crash Reports
Crash reports sent to Sentry are retained according to Sentry's retention policy. After the retention period, data is automatically deleted.
8.3 No Long-Term Storage by Mautonce
Mautonce does not maintain long-term backups, logs, or archives of your letter content or personal data.
9. Security
9.1 Technical Safeguards
LTTR uses industry-standard security practices to protect your data:
Device-level encryption: Letter content stored on your device is protected by your operating system's built-in file encryption (iOS/iPadOS Data Protection, Android File-Based Encryption, etc.)
Secure authentication: Optional cloud sync uses OAuth 2.0 or equivalent secure authentication protocols
Transport security: All network communications (including crash reports) use HTTPS/TLS encryption
9.2 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
Securing your device with a strong passcode, biometric lock, or other device security features
Protecting your cloud storage credentials and enabling two-factor authentication where available
Keeping backups of important letters (Mautonce does not provide backup services)
9.3 No Guarantee
While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet or stored on your device or cloud accounts.
10. Children's Privacy
LTTR is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at LTTR@mautonce.com, and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. State-Specific Privacy Rights
11.1 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you
Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain exceptions)
Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (Mautonce does not sell or share personal information)
Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
Right to Non-Discrimination: You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights
Because LTTR does not collect personal identifiers, does not sell data, and stores letter content locally on your device or in your cloud account, most CCPA/CPRA data subject requests may not apply. However, if you wish to exercise any rights, contact us at LTTR@mautonce.com.
California "Shine the Light" Law: California residents may request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. Mautonce does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
11.2 Illinois Residents
Mautonce LLC is incorporated and headquartered in Illinois. Illinois residents may have additional rights under:
Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530/) — Requires notification in the event of a data breach involving personal information
Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA, 740 ILCS 14/) — Regulates collection, use, and retention of biometric identifiers
LTTR does not collect, capture, store, or transmit biometric identifiers or biometric information (fingerprints, retina/iris scans, voiceprints, hand scans, facial geometry, etc.). If any future version of LTTR collects biometric data, Mautonce will:
Obtain informed written consent
Provide a publicly available retention schedule
Comply with all BIPA requirements
11.3 Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Other U.S. States
Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Utah (UCPA), and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights similar to California residents, including rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain data processing activities.
To exercise these rights, contact us at LTTR@mautonce.com.
12. International Users and Data Transfers
12.1 EU / EEA and UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), or United Kingdom (UK), your personal data is protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR.
Data Controller: Mautonce LLC is the data controller for any personal data processed through LTTR.
Legal Basis for Processing: Where LTTR processes personal data (e.g., crash reports), we rely on:
Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to maintain and improve app functionality and security
Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — where you opt in to optional features
Your GDPR / UK GDPR Rights:
Right of access — Obtain confirmation of whether we process your data and request a copy
Right to rectification — Correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — Request deletion of your data

Right to withdraw consent — Withdraw consent at any time (does not affect prior processing)
Right to lodge a complaint — File a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise these rights, contact us at LTTR@mautonce.com.
International Data Transfers: Crash reports sent to Sentry may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Sentry is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework
Mautonce relies on these frameworks and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to safeguard international transfers.
12.2 Other International Users
If you are located outside the United States, EU/EEA, or UK, your personal data may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where Mautonce or its service providers operate. By using LTTR, you consent to such transfers. We will take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
13.1 Right to Modify
Mautonce reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make changes, we will:
Post the updated Privacy Policy at https://www.mautonce.com/lttr#policy-and-terms
Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document
Update the "Effective date" if the change is material
13.2 Notice of Material Changes
For material changes that affect how we collect, use, or share your information, we will provide reasonable advance notice by:
Displaying an in-app notification when you next open LTTR, and/or
Sending an email to the address you provided (if you have opted in to communications), and/or
Posting a prominent notice on our website at https://www.mautonce.com
13.3 Acceptance
Your continued use of LTTR after the effective date of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Privacy Policy, you must stop using the App and may uninstall it from your device.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
14. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers and devices include "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals or similar mechanisms. LTTR does not track your activity across websites or apps, and therefore DNT signals do not apply. We do not respond to DNT signals because we do not engage in the tracking activities DNT is designed to address.
15. Third-Party Links and Services
LTTR may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources (e.g., cloud storage provider login pages, support documentation). This Privacy Policy applies only to LTTR. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites or services.
We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through or in connection with LTTR.
